Hans Christian Andersen is one of the favourite authors of the Russian artist Anastassija Archipowa, who has been inspired to produce enchanting pictures by the tales – here she also portrayed him. In 2005, when Andersen’s 200th birthday is celebrated, another Andersen fairy tale illustrated by Anastassija Archipowa will be printed in the Esslinger Verlag, and one can already look forward to it: “Thumbelina” is being prepared.
